Espana, We Meet Again

My soul sister ultimate “YES” girl Sophie kept sending me voice notes and texts saying she envisioned us together in Spain and I, being the romantic I am, gushed and agreed to make my way there to meet her. I am so grateful for her vision, getting me back out into the world to taste the magic of yet another adventure that felt oh so divinely timed. The following is a collection of a handful of days in Granada & the rest we spent together at the Artist Residency she was hosting in a remote town a couple hours north called Velez Rubio.

We bought matching dresses and watched Flamenco in a cave while drinking sangria, danced barefoot in front of historic churches in the wee hours of the morning, walked the Alhambra for hours completely amazed with every carved pillar and ceiling every flower and hedge perfectly trimmed. We ate empanadas and wandered the streets, dipped churros in thick chocolate on old steps scattered with sunflower seeds, swam in a local spring pool with fish, doused our hair in probably too much sun in and laid in the blazing heat, stocked up on roasted chicken, olives, and cherries to eat on the ground of the Sierra Nevada National park. We played guitar and sang Stevie Nicks, threw coins of the I Ching & pulled cards to assess our lives, laughed so much and LIVED. Sophie is just one of those humans who has really nailed down living, I learn from her all the time to just say YES to life. So thank you, my sweet Soph, for getting me to say yes to Spain and this adventure. I will cherish this time of ours forever.
