Soul Tiles

I started painting this pattern during the summer of 2022. I used majority acrylic paint for these but at some point started adding some water color pencils and gouache to the mix. I found it deeply therapeutic to paint these, each uniquely crafted by hand without the use of stencils, resulting in individual and distinctive designs. In true fashion I was too eager to start painting without planning so every piece felt like a fun puzzle to figure out how to fit all the shapes inside evenly.
